Before you apply

Check the rule for the passport you will actually travel with. Entry arrangements can change, so do this before paying for non-refundable travel.

• Passport details exactly as printed
• Arrival date and first accommodation address
• Return or onward flight information

The application

Use the official government portal, complete the tourist ETA form and avoid look-alike commercial websites. Many eligible European passport holders currently receive a free 30-day tourist ETA, but always verify your nationality and the latest conditions.

At the airport

Keep your passport, ETA confirmation, accommodation address and onward ticket together. The ETA is permission to travel; final entry remains an immigration decision.
